Scholarships for Participants from Developing Countries
|
The sponsors of ICTAC 2006 will support a limited number of ICTAC attendees from
developing countries by providing a scholarship to cover their full registration fees
at ICTAC 2006. Full registration fee includes
- participation in all conference sessions, tutorials, the satellite workshop and
all social events;
- one copy of the proceedings.
The scholarship will not cover airfare/transportation and
accommodation costs.

REQUIREMENTS

- We welcome applications from postgraduate
students and researchers from academia and industry who
- are citizens of a developing country not belonging to the
European Union;
- do not hold any position in an industrialised country or in a country
belonging to the European Union;
- have obtained at least an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or
in a related discipline;
where developing countries are those countries whose economies are
classified as low income, lower-middle
income or upper-middle income by
The World Bank Group.

APPLICATION AND DEADLINES

- An application must include
- completed Application Form (please
download)
- any further qualifications and information that should be taken into
account, e.g. a list of publications.
Applications should be emailed (plain text only) to
ictac2006@iist.unu.edu.

The deadline to receive all application is 15 September 2006.

All applicants will be informed about the decision by 25 September 2006.

Accepted applicants are required to confirm their attendance and send via fax
(Fax No. +853-712-940; Att. Ms. Alice Pun - ICTAC Scholarships)
- copy of current passport;
- written confirmation of travel and accomodation support from
their institutions (only for applicants from outside Tunis)
by 2 October 2006.

Successful applicants who have confirmed their attendance but have failed
to attend the conference will have to return to UNU-IIST the full amount
paid for the conference registration.
