- Arrival at Cape Town Airport
-
- For travels from Cape Town Airport to your accommodation you are
strongly recommended to use a professional airport shuttle service
and pre-book it before your air-travel.
Your accommodation will probably be able to organise such a service.
If not, you can require assistance from the SEFM 2008 official travel
agent
(lorinda@travelvialorinda.co.za).
Please note that privately-operated Mini-Bus and Taxis are not reliable.
- Upon arrival at the airport, there will be several people offering their
help.
You are advised to politely decline to receive their help and walk straight
to the pick-up-point where the pre-booked professional shuttle-operator will
be waiting for you.
The shuttle driver should also help you carry your luggage.
For this service, it is customary to give the driver a tip worth approximately
10% percent of the transport fee from airport to destination.

within easy striking distance of the sights. The rooms are large, comfortable and light with huge windows, and sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities. under R100
- Travellers' Inn 208 Long St Telephone 021 424 9272,

Apart from the light and spacious family rooms with twin beds and a double bunk, the rooms are small and sparely furnished; all rooms share bathroom facilities.
Weekly and monthly discounts are available. R100-200
- Cat & Moose 305 Long St Telephone 021 423 7638,
(www.catandmoose.co.za).
The most stylish of the Long St lodges, housed in an eighteenth-century building a couple of doors from the steam baths at the south end of the city centre.
Timber floors with Turkish-style rugs, exposed beams, earthy reds and ochres as well as some African masks imbue it with a warm ethnic feel.
The dorms, triples and double rooms are arranged around a small leafy courtyard, with a waterfall cascading into a plunge pool.
Dorms under R100, rooms under R100
- Long Street Backpackers 209 Long St Telephone 021 423 0615, (www.longstreetbackpackers.co.za).
The oldest Long St backpacker lodge, on the top two floors of an unexceptional three-storey former apartment block arranged around a courtyard,
with dorms, doubles and singles. Quieter than some of the other lodges in the vicinity, it's a well-organized place, with a laundry,
Internet facilities and a travel desk; there's also a lively bar and a kitchen. under R100
