Although UNU/IIST started on July 2, 1992, it has yet to move into adequate temporary premises. The situation is rapidly approaching a most precarious state. The Governor of Macau has informally offered that a reasonably distinguished century-old Patrician Villa be converted and become the more permanent seat of UNU/IIST. Such alterations could take 2-3 years.
