ARTIST2/UNU-IIST Spring School on Embedded Systems

and ARTIST2, Network of Excellence on Embedded Systems Design
(Europe), joint sponsored the first school on embedded systems
that was organised by UNU-IIST and North West Polytechnic University
on 3-15 April in Xi'an, China. Mike Reed, the director of UNU-IIST,
opened the school together with the head of North West Polytechnic
University. The school had four courses and 5
seminars including two by Zhiming Liu from UNU-IIST. About 50
students attended the school; about 35 of them completed all the
program of the school. The next edition of the school will be held
in Suzhou (China), August, 2007.
3rd UNeGov.net School on Foundations of Electronic Governance
Abuja, Nigeria, 25-27 July 2006. The school was co-organized with
the National IT Development Agency, Government of Nigeria, and
attended by close to 100 civil servants from most ministries and
departments, and academics from universities across the country. The
school comprised six half-day modules, three taught by Tomasz
Janowski and three by Adegboyega Ojo.
ICTAC 2006 School on Refinement
A school on Refinement was
organised with ICTAC in Tunis, Tunisia, during 13-17 November.
Zhiming Liu taught a course on a Real-time and fault-tolerant
Systems. There were some 50 participants from Tunisia, Algeria and
Morocco.
Antonio Cerone taught a course on Security: Principles, Techniques and
Verification during 4-8 April in Iasi, Romania. There were 20
participants from Romania and 1 from Moldova.
Chris George taught a course on Software Project Management
during 3-7 September at Alzaiem Alazhari University, Khartoum,
Sudan. 41 people from universities across Sudan attended.
Liu Zhiming taught a course on Relational Methods of
Program Design and Analysis during 8-12 May in South West University,
Chongqing, China. 25 people attended.
Dang Van Hung taught four courses on Model Checking:
during 15-19 May in
South West University, Chongqing, China. 25 people attended.
during 2-10 May at the Natural Science University, National
University of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. 40 people attended.
during 27-30 March at the State Academy of
Sciences of DPRK, Pyongyang, DPR Korea. 58 people attended.
during 7-18 August at the Software Engineering
Institute, East China Normal University, Shanghai, China, as part of
the Shanghai Summer School on Software Verification Tools. 30
people attended.
