- With Tarbiat Modarres University and
ITRC: the Iran Telecommuncations

Ph.D. internships at UNU/IIST. (April 29. 1993)
- With CICA: Chengdu Institute of Computer Applications
(Academia Sinica): on the Establishment of
a joint CICA-UNU/IIST Software Technology Laboratory at CICA. (May 7. 1993)
- With TIFR: Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Bombay,
India: on joint research, training workshops, and exchange of
scholars. The present visit of Dr. Pandya K. Paritosh, TIFR, is a first
example of this arrangement.
- With SCST: State Commission of Science and Technology,
Pyongyang, Democratice People's Republic of Korea:
on a 1 week UNU/IIST training course i May 1994, on
participation in events financed by UNU/IIST, on
possible future, joint projects, and on the possible establishment of
a joint SCST-UNU/IIST Software Technology Laboratory at KCC:
Korean Computer Center, Pyongyang (Oct. 25, 1993).
- With Dept. of Computer Science (Dr. Jimmy Ho Man Lee, Dr. Leung
Ho-Fung, et al.), Chinese
University of Hongkong (CUHK), in connection with their project: Design and Implementation of an Object-Oriented Concurrent
Constraint Logic Programming Language in a Distributed Environment, and
Its Applications in the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway System. and
the UNU/IIST PRaCoSy project. Several colloquia have already
taken place, at CUHK and at UNU/IIST.
- UNU/IIST has lent support to the Software Institute of
Academia Sinica (SI/AS) in its quest to obtain a World Bank sponsored
Engineering Research Centre for Software Technology. SI/AS and
UNU/IIST otherwise have very close ties.
UNU/IIST has recently discussed similar memoranda-of-understanding
with:

Dr. Sereeterin Lodoysamba.
- [9.] Cabinet for Legislative Affairs, Macau Government, Dr.
Paulo Pereira Vidal: Memorandum on collaboration in connection with full
text search capabilities for legislative databases &c.
UNU/IIST expects to conclude such agreements early 1994.
