10 Acknowledgements

UNU/IIST wishes to acknowledge:

  1. Initial Donors:

    The Governments of The Republic of Portugal, The People's Republic of China and The Governor of Macau for their continued support of UNU/IIST, and especially for their installations to the UNU Endowment Fund in respect of UNU/IIST. Without this there would be no UNU/IIST.

  2. Additional Donors:

    The Orient Foundation and the STDM31 for their contributions to the UNU Endowment Fund in respect of UNU/IIST.

  3. Macau Foundation:

    The Macau Foundation for its charming and continued support in the daily life of UNU/IIST in Macau. We are indeed most grateful.

    The University of Indonesia for its kind hosting, and careful and diligent organisation of the UNU/IIST May-June 1994 Post Graduate/Doctoral Course and the September 1994 MIICI Field Study Workshop.

  9. Democratic People's Republic of Korea:

    The DPRK State Committee for Science & Technology for its kind hosting and organisation of the UNU/IIST May Post Graduate/Doctoral Course.

  10. The European Union

    The EU has, through their KIT (Keep in Touch) Programme supported UNU/IIST with so far 24,000 ECU for the visit of four UNU/IIST Fellows to Europe for three weeks during the fall of 1994. We are grateful for this, and we look forward to an increased level of support during 1995 and 1996.

  11. Past Staff and Consultants:

    1. Dr. Pandya K. Paritosh, 1.9.93-28.2.94:

      Dr. Pandya K. Paritosh contributed significantly to the success of the DeTfoRS Research project.

    2. Dr. Srinivasan Parthasarathy, 1.10.93-30.6.94:

      Dr. Srinivasan Parthasarathy contributed significantly to the success of the PRaCoSy Advanced Development project.

    3. Mr. Søren Prehn, 2 years -- 1.9.92-31.8.94:

      Mr. Søren Prehn contributed significantly to the success of the first two years of UNU/IIST, to its own infrastructure, including computing systems, to the success of several Post Graduate/Doctoral courses: in Macau and off-shore, and, last, but certainly not least, to the success of the PRaCoSy Advanced Development project.

    4. Dr. Jan Goossenaerts, 11 Months 1994:

      Dr. Jan Goossenaerts contributed significantly to the build-up of the MIICI project, and to its two field study workshops -- in fact: Dr. Jan Goossenaerts is the MIICI project!

    5. Dr. Oliver Corff, Occasional Consultancies, 1993-1994:

      Dr. Oliver Corff is the person who `carries' the MoTraS project.

    6. Mr. Walther Neuper, Occasional Consultancies, 1993-1994:

      Mr. Walther Neuper helped the Director to propagate, on the Austrian side, the "old MacSchubert" project proposal.
