Summary
The present document covers UNU/IIST's activities during 1996. A brief overview is followed by a description of the status of ongoing research and advanced software for infrastructure development projects. This is followed by successive sections reporting on UNU/IIST's advanced course actions, events and academic meetings, personnel and staff situation, and UNU/IIST's emerging off-shore laboratory, R&D project, training-the-trainers and other programmes. We close by outlining new plans for 1997. An appendix details UNU/IIST's framework conditions for off-shore R&D.
