II/1/5/8 Macao e-Government

Macao is our host community. We have formed a consortium with a government department responsible for implementing e-government in Macao, the University of Macau, and the institute INESC-Macau, to establish a 3-year project during 2004-6 develop e-government services in Macao, and to develop the capacity of the government to continue to develop them in the future. The Macao government has agreed to fund the project.

We intend to use the results of this project in collaborating with institutions in developing countries that are interested in developing similar software.

Expected results are a domain model for e-government in Macao, training of government employees in the relevant techniques, some demonstrator applications, and some standard open source packages that can be used elsewhere.
