1 Advanced Training Courses

UNU/IIST currently sees its off-shore advanced courses as the principal means of identifying potential partners for other joint activities. Full details of the range of courses currently offered can be found in Reference Handbook section II/2, including lists of forthcoming courses (II/2/4) and of courses that UNU/IIST has presented in the past (II/2/5).

UNU/IIST identifies potential hosts for these courses through:

  1. its participation in international conferences in both developing and industrialised countries;

  2. direct requests from potential hosts; and

  3. explicit contacts made by UNU/IIST to suitable institutions in developing countries.

Please note, however, that UNU/IIST is not a mass education and training institution, and the number of courses we can schedule each year as well as the range of courses we offer are both limited. In particular, we do not offer training, either at the vocational or operational level, in the use of specific software tools, specific programming languages, specific operating systems, etc.
