Full details of UNU/IIST's advanced development projects are given in Reference Handbook section II/1/2.
UNU/IIST is wide open to suggestions from prospective partner institutions for new advanced development projects which fit into UNU/IIST's general area of expertise.
An advanced development project may consist of up to four phases:
Generally, each phase lasts from six months to one year and involves one or more Fellows working together with a single Tutor. Fellows for the initial phase are predominantly identified through UNU/IIST's training courses or on the recommendation of UNU/IIST's colleagues worldwide. Fellows for later phases may additionally be identified with the help of Fellows from earlier phases. Information about UNU/IIST fellowships can be found in Reference Handbook section IV/2.
