UNU/IIST welcomes applications from academic staff whose research interests fit in closely with UNU/IIST's work to spend a period of time working at UNU/IIST while on sabbatical leave from their own university, which may be in either a developing or an industrialised country. Those accepted are expected to work closely with UNU/IIST staff and fellows on one or more of UNU/IIST's current research or development projects, details of which can be found in Reference Handbook Section II/1.
Details of the work to be done and the terms and conditions pertaining to the stay at UNU/IIST are negotiated on a case by case basis, though applicants are urged to submit an outline proposal for the former with their application.
