The International Institute for Software Technology of the United Nations University (UNU/IIST, http://www.iist.unu.edu) and the Centre of Informatics of the Federal University of Pernambuco (CIn-UFPE, http://cin.ufpe.br) are jointly organising a summer school on Object-Oriented Processes and Technologies. The addressed topics cover from software quality, management and planning to implementation, distribution and tests. The presentation is structured as a series of full-time courses, which involve both lecture room presentations and practical lectures in laboratories. The courses are carefully centred around two main case studies: one is presented to illustrate the concepts and the other one is developed by the students as practical exercises during the courses.
The aimed audience are professionals and students from Latin America. The official language of the summer school is Portuguese. Interested participants should complete the attached form and send to the address school@cin.ufpe.br. UNU/IST will provide limited financial support to cover travel costs of some foreign participants. As there is a limit of 30 participants, registrations are subject to confirmation. A major criterion is to allow participation of as many countries, cities and organisations as possible. Registrations of participants of a same organisation will be selected in a first arrival first served basis.
Although this is a non-profitable initiative (funded by the UNU/IIST), there is a small participation fee of R$220,00 (two hundred twenty Brazilian Reais) to cover part of the cost of material and organisation.
