This summer school is jointly organised by the School of Mathematics and Computer Science of the National University of Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar and UNU/IIST. It is primarily aimed at university teachers, with a view to helping them introduce similar courses into their own teaching curriculum, though postgraduate students are also welcome. The school is open to participants from the whole Central Asian region. Participating countries so far include DPR Korea, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as Mongolia.
All the courses will be taught in English.
Good management is essential if projects of more than trivial size
are to be successful. This course includes an introduction
to international standards on software quality assurance such as
ISO9000 and CMM, software project planning, size and cost estimation,
risk analysis and control, etc.
The internet is increasingly important in all countries, and this
course covers the basic techniques and languages needed to
exploit it.

related to modern database systems.
Software development is a challenging and risky business because software is notoriously prone to errors. VDMTOOLS aims to eliminate this late and expensive error correction by providing state-of-the-art technology for managing complexity in requirements analysis and design. This course will provide an introduction to the ISO standard VDM-SL specification language and how to develop VDM-SL specifications using VDMTOOLS.
