Arrival and Transportation
Airport: Noi Bai International Airport is about 45km (28 miles) from Hanoi center, and to get to the center or back you can take taxi (15USD or 250.000 VND) to anywhere in Hanoi center, or you can take Airport Minibus (2USD or 30.000 VND). City bus 07 or 17 is much cheaper (0.3USD or 5.000 VND) to get to Hanoi center, but it is slow and not very convenient. more details...Get around: The comfortable way to get around Hanoi is by taxi for long distance and cyclos or motorbikes for short trips. more details...
To/from conference site: We provide free bus from your hotels to the conference site and back on days from 23 to 27-November if you have booked hotels near the old conference site. Please email us ({hungpn,hoangta} @vnu.edu.vn) your name and your hotel information if you need the bus service.
Tourist Information
Hanoi, as a cultural center of Vietnam, is about to celebrate its millennial. Visit Hanoi's different tourist attractions to learn more about the city's colourful history.
Other tourist spots including HaLong Bay, Sapa Town, Huong Pagoda or HoiAn are not far away, but will take a one to three day trip to fully enjoy their highlights. Eating is very convenient in Hanoi with restaurants just around the corner serving different healthy and delicious Vietnamese dishes.
Visa
Please check the list of visa exemption agreements first. Then if you need a visa, please contact your convenient Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate. If you are asked for a visa approval code (reference number) please fill in this form and send to hoangta (at) vnu.edu.vn. We will apply for your visa and inform you the reference number, then you can collect your visa at your convenient Vietnamese Embassy/Consulate or you can collect it on arrival. more details...
Please send us your visa application form before November 6, 2009 so there is enough time for approval.
