The report presents the status of electronic government in Nepal. The report starts by highlighting the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on the society in general and the benefits of electronic government in government institutions in particular. Following this, the report provides a background into the e-government program in Nepal spanning the history of ICT adoption in government, existing institutions in the country to promote ICT in government and in the society, and the major policies and regulations in place to enable sustainable e-government program. Subsequently, the report discusses the e-government consulting report developed in collaboration with the Korean Government including some of the major initiatives being undertaken within the framework of the program. Finally, the challenges faced in the implementation of e-government in Nepal are presented before concluding with recommendations on how some of these challenges could be addressed.
